Ilocos Sur is a province
that is reach in culture and traditions that we Ilocanos can or must be proud
of wherever we go.And there is one festival that will surely expose the said
cultures and traditions of our province.
Kannawidan Festival.This
is a week-long happiness for local and foreign tourists.And now it is the 6th
year of the festival.And ther are so many activities that was prepared.And
these activities are to be participated of the towns in Ilocos Sur.And it will
be also a competition for elementary and high school students.These events is
encouraging the young Ilocanos to learn those indigenous songs and dances for
sustainability and preservation that is now not familiar to the younger
generations due to the influence of the television,computer and internet.
Since 2008,we celebrate
this festival.And the reason why it islaunched
is because it lets us create awareness on the preservation and sustainability
of the province rich cultural heritage,practices and traditions and a showcase
of the different agricultural and industry products.This is also a way for us
to experience,know,learn and love the different cuisines,cultures,traditions
and exhibits of our own place,our province,ILOCOS SUR.
